Water Storage Pond/Water Treatment Lagoon

Water Storage Pond/Water Treatment Lagoon:A water storage pond (WSP) or water treatment lagoon (WTL) is a man-made body of water that is used to store or treat water. WSPs and WTLs are typically used to store drinking water, irrigation water, stormwater runoff, or wastewater. WSPs and WTLs can be constructed using a variety of materials, including concrete, earth, or liner systems.

Water-Based Pesticides

Water-Based Pesticides:Pesticides that are dissolved in water before they are applied to crops are called “water-based pesticides.” Water-based pesticides are less likely to drift off target than other types of pesticides because they are heavier than air and tend to stay close to the ground where they are applied.

Watershed

Watershed:A watershed is an area of land that drains into a body of water, such as a river, lake, or ocean. Watersheds are often divided into smaller units called subwatersheds.

Waterway

Waterway:A waterway is a natural or man-made channel through which water flows. Waterways can be used for transportation, irrigation, drainage, or recreation.

Weir

Weir:A weir is a dam-like structure that is used to control the flow of water in a stream or river. Weirs are often used to create ponds or reservoirs, or to prevent flooding.
