Home / glossary / Turbidity

Turbidity:Turbidity is the measure of how cloudy or murky water is. High turbidity levels can make water unsafe to drink and can also interfere with the proper functioning of sewage treatment plants and other water-based systems. Turbidity is often caused by runoff from agricultural fields, construction sites, and urban areas. It can also be a natural phenomenon, caused by algae blooms or sediment-laden rivers.
