Lodging: The act of providing accommodation, especially for payment.

Lowest Observed Adverse Effect Level (LOAEL): The lowest dose of a chemical substance that has been observed to cause adverse effects in humans or animals. This is usually expressed as a mass concentration, such as milligrams per kilogram body weight per day (mg/kg bw/day).
Mandibles: The jaws, especially the lower ones. In insects, the mandibles are the large, powerful jaws located at the front of the head. They are used for chewing food and for defence.
Margin of Exposure (MOE): The ratio between the estimated exposure to a chemical substance and the level at which there are no observed adverse effects. A high MOE indicates a large margin of safety between the exposure level and the LOAEL.
Margin of Safety (MOS): The difference between the no-observed-adverse-effect level (NOAEL) and the estimated exposure level at which there is no significant risk to human health. MOS values are used to assess the safety of chemicals and other substances.
