Infiltration

Infiltration:The process of water moving into the soil or rock. Infiltration occurs when there is a decrease in air pressure within the pores of the soil or rock, causing water to be drawn in from the surrounding area. This can happen naturally, through rainfall or irrigation, or artificially, through the use of pumps or other devices.
