Home / glossary / Gully Erosion

Gully Erosion:Gully erosion is a type of erosion caused by runoff from heavy rains or melting snow. Gullies form when water flows over bare soil or exposed bedrock and cuts a channel into the ground. As gullies become larger, they can cause serious damage to crops, roads, buildings, and other infrastructure. Gully erosion can also lead to increased sedimentation in rivers and streams.
