On the road with Kiki – Episode 7
Welcome to our latest episode of On the Road with Kiki, where we follow pest consultant Kristian as he makes his way around Adelaide providing pest assessments in homes and businesses.
Today, he starts with a visit to an apartment block with pest pigeons living on an upstairs balcony and around an air conditioning unit. Kristian recommends bird proofing and spiking as the best treatment options.
Then it’s off to check out a house with a possum issue. With fur left behind in the gutter line, it’s clear that the gutters are in urgent need of possum proofing. Kristian plans to put a cage in the roof to trap the culprit possum and then relocate it to a nesting box in a nearby tree.
Kristian then heads to Mollydooker Wines vineyard in McLaren Vale, where sparrows have crept inside small entry points to nest and foul in the roof void of a warehouse.
He ends the day at two separate homes with termites. Located in Flagstaff Hill and Seacliff Park, Kristian suggests using baiting stations above and below the ground to control the outbreak at both properties.

On the road with Kiki – Episode 6
Join us for this latest episode of On the Road with Kiki, where pest consultant Kristian shows us how he tackles pest issues for Allstate clients around Adelaide.
He starts off with a possum problem in Parkside, where he finds possum droppings and entry points that need proofing.
Then, it’s onto a termite assessment where Kristian identifies visible mud tubes, which are a tell tale sign of termite activity. He recommends a thorough inspection throughout the home and yard with a moisture meter, then installing bait stations in active areas and a bait system around the house.
Originally thought to be possums, it turns out a rodent outbreak is the real issue at hand at Kristian’s next job. After an assessment, Kristian confirms finding rodent droppings in the roof void. Since the home owner hasn’t noticed hissing or fighting noises, just scratching, Kristian is confident that rodents are the target pest here.
Now for a much needed coffee break. Kristian decides to stop by Brown Charlie Co in Adelaide CBD. An Allstate client, we get to hear why they enjoy being a part of Allstate’s convenient and simple monthly commercial pest control management program.
To round off the day, it’s a termite inspection at a home with a bait system originally installed by a competitor. Sadly, Kristian finds that many of the bait stations are damaged, so he recommends reactivating the termite baiting system and monitoring them every few months, depending on the amount of termite activity.

On the road with Kiki – Episode 5
Welcome back for another instalment of On the Road with Kiki. This episode features a day on the job with pest consultant Kristian as he visits homes and businesses across Adelaide to help combat all types of pest outbreaks.
Starting the day with a “problem job”, Kristian visits a home to find out how persistent pest birds have managed to bypass entry points that we had previously proofed. He decides that it’s best to consult with the original technician to come up with a more permanent solution.
Next up, it’s a termite assessment in a house attic. Despite water leaks outside the house leading to wood rot, there are thankfully no termites, just ants and spiders which can be prevented with a general crawling insect spray and dust in the roof voids.
Lunch time rolls around and Kristian decides to support another family owned business AND keep it the family. He’s got a hankering for a top-notch schnitzel sandwich at none other than his parents’ café and Allstate client Impressa Café.
After lunch, Kristian heads to a commercial property with a feral cat problem. He comes up with a plan to trap the cats and take them to the Animal Welfare League for rehoming, and also gives a quote for general pests.
Kristian ends the day with a possum assessment at a house with a steep roof and fragile tiles which will need special access equipment. He’ll consult a technician to work out how to safely complete the job.

Welcome to another instalment of On the Road with Kiki, where pest consultant Kristian takes us around Adelaide to help our clients fix their pest problems.
In today’s episode, Kristian tackles termites and pigeons. Though it’s a Friday, pests don’t stop being a nuisance on the weekends. So he starts off with a termite prevention quotation for a new client and discusses options such as a liquid spray and baiting system.
Up next is a pest bird assessment in Flagstaff Hill, where pigeons are roosting on a client’s roof, underneath solar panels and causing damage to the existing solar skirt. Kristian decides the best solution is a trapping program to reduce the size of the flock.
Our next client is Kristian’s good friend Michael, the owner of Storage Boss in Hackham, who needs a quote for pest protection at his business. After a tour of the facility, we measure up to put together a suitable pest management program for him.
To wrap up the day, we’re visiting a previous client who’s recently had some renovations to her home. Although she already has a Kordon termite barrier installed, she wants to make sure that the renovated areas are as best protected as they can be. Kristian assesses her property and prepares some quotes that she can look at over the weekend.
