On the road with Kiki – Episode 8

It’s great to have you here for another episode of On The Road with Kiki. In this series, we take you behind the scenes as pest consultant Kristian travels around Adelaide to assess pest outbreaks in homes and businesses.

His first stop is at Port Noarlunga, where a home owner is concerned about pests causing rotten wood inside the home. Kristian soon discovers that it’s wood rot being mistaken for termite activity, but recommends a routine termite inspection just in case.

Next up is an assessment at a home with busy active possums inside the roof. The client explains that there are hissing, thumping, fighting, chewing and scurrying sounds. Kristian sees possum droppings inside the roof, with a big entry point at the side of the house. His solution is to install a one way door or possum trap to remove the possums, before relocating them nearby in a nesting box.

Kristian follows this job with yet another possum problem, but this time at a car dealership in the Adelaide Hills. With the building being tall, he’ll need to return with some special access equipment so that he can do a proper assessment of the roof.

Then, it’s off to look over a rat outbreak in a roof void at a rental property. Kristian sees clear signs of high rodent activity so organises a quote for the real estate agent to have a baiting system installed to remove the problem.

After a hard day’s work, Kristian heads over to Marion to his favourite coffee shop, D.OSE, for a great pick me up to charge him for the drive home.
